Ok, suboxone is to get you off opiates, right? Well, i am addicted to hydrocodone/Lortab 10/500?

SO after i have all these surgeries i have to have i want to get off them.................so HOW LONG DO YOU HAVE TO BE OFF THE VICIDON before you can start taking the suboxone???????
PS. I already had 2 major back suregeries in 2005...finally had my back fused....now i have to have knee surgery and a total hip replacement!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAh...
SO i can't get off the damn narcotics yet, right?

Answers:
when you are done with the knee and hip surgery your doc should be able to help wean you off ... if not you may have to go to detox, docs need to have a permit to dispense suboxone and not many have that... also most insurance companies will not pay for it and it can be 600.00 a month.... my daughter is a nurse and gave me this info to pass on.
