Is this considered a safe blood pressure level?
Question:
Answers:
That blood pressure is perfectly safe. The guidelines for blood pressure are systolic (top number) be below 140 and the diastolic (the bottom number) be below 90. Of course everyone is different. If you have had that reading for most of your life then that is a normal blood pressure for you.
Other Answers:
I think it's normal or a little high.
The bottom number is a little low. That is the main one to be worried about. Um the average is 120/80. But I think that you are alright. I also think that you should slow down on giving blood because it is making it drop. That is what is making you feel dizzy.
Normal. Maybe you're anemic. Check your iron levels.
hi im a nursing student and according to what i understand the ideal value of systolic ( the denominator) is lower than a hundred so i think its in normal..
118 is normal, 56 is a bit low. But not too shabby.
Mine is 89/ 52 (Im tiny) it also depends on your weight
That is considered a safe blood pressure, though the diastolic (the one on the bottom) is a little low. If you aren't light headed, then it probably is ok. As I'm not a medical doctor, you'll have to take this answer with a grain of salt. Your own doctor will have a good answer for you. Some of the answer may depend on your age. If you are young, then the 118 is perhaps a little high but probably ok. If you are older then you are doing very well. 120/80 is a basic starting point, but if you are in your teens or 20's the numbers may be lower and if you are weighing in around 100 lbs. that is also a lower number. And if you have always been around 118/56 then that is normal for you. There is no set number. But it is always good to check with a nurse or the pharmacist at your pharmacy.
120/80 is considered normal.so you are right on target. When I searched for a online blood pressure log, this came up. Good luck!
http://www.bplog.com/ Some times when it is hot and lot of sweetening's, I experience the same and my BP level also remains at the nearest of yours. I take cold drink/juice with little salt in it. I feel normal.
Any way U did not mention your age; this factor also matters for establishing Hi/Lo. Any way see the Doctor but not always.
120/80 is considered a typical average blood pressure for an individual in good health. You didn't say your age, but I'm assuming that you are older than 20. If you were under 20 years of age, the reading you have would be considered rather normal. The fact that you've had the same pressure your entire life with no adverse effects would indicate that 118/56 is "normal" for you and nothing that should cause concern.
