I just got a tattoo on my foot and I have to wear tennis shoes to my new job.?

Answers:
If your foot were injured would you be allowed to wear a flip flop or something like that? I would be honest with your supervisor. Apologize, explain how dumb it was, but could they let you wear a flip flop until the tattoo heals. Your supervisor would probably understand that more than you calling out the rest of the week or constantly running to the bathroom to check on your tattoo. Most of my bosses would appreciate the honesty. Give it a shot all he do is say no. Around here they would comply as long as it did not go against any OSHA codes. If you still have to where sneakers try putting Vaseline on it before putting your shoe on. You might need to buy new sneakers later but your tattoo won't keep rubbing against dry sneaker.

next time think BEFORE you get the tat!
I would call whoever did the tat for you and ask their advice, before listening to anyone on here. They may suggest a bandage of some sort.
Okay. I know you are all entitled to your opinion, but she asked about covering her tattoo so it doesn't mess up. She didn't ask if you like tattoos or not. She is not saying she regrets getting one. So for all you people that are saying she shouldn't have gotten one, go spout your sh#t to the young kids on here who ARE asking whether or not they should get a tattoo!
wear medical scrub-shoes. You know, those blue things? They also make you wear them sometimes when you go into an open house. be sure to get the next one at proper place
Let this be a lesson kids, don't get a tattoo. Get a nice watch instead and if you don't like the watch, you can easily change it or decide not to wear it.
Don't use lotion!
Use a product like Tattoo Goo which has an oily base, and protectants. EVEN vaseline would be better than just lotion, which absorbs into your skin.
Cover it with a non stick bandage while wearing shoes. (As a rule, you never want a bandage, but with the risk of infection, and damage, you need something.
It shouldn't be scabbing that badly either.
Call a reputable tattooist and explain whats going on.
Eh, it was a rather stupid thing to do, really. Tattoos on your feet should always be approached with caution. I'm afraid you're gonna have a messed up tattoo. :-( It's best not to wear shoes until the tattoo heals. If you have to wear them, cover the tat with A&D ointment and a non stick guaze pad. Keep your shoes as loose as possible.
Cover it with plastic wrap, not real tight. This is will protect it from your sock or bandage, but won't stick. Plus it is much more comfortable.
I cover all my new tattoos with plastic wrap (you know, like what you wrap up your left over pizza in?) and it works so much better than applying a bandage.
