Why is it that when you scratch the tip of your buttock near the end of your pelvic bone, you tend to urinate?

I think because your urethra, the tube that carries urine from your bladder down to your penis, is very close under that area of skin, so touching/scratching that area might stimulate the need to urinate. That's my guess, anyway.

It is not whether I tend to do this, obviously it happens to you. I would guess one of number of things.

- you have a Big, full Bladder - try to empty it before you poke your pelvic bone.
- you have a small, full bladder but a nerve near the pelvic bone that triggers the sphincter muscle
- You have a swollen prostrate gland and a simillar problem
- you are imagining the whole thing or making this up.
