why do some people pick their nose in public?

There are 3 possible answers to that question in my opinion:

1) They ain't been taught about manners from home.

2) They ain't aware tissues can work outside of the toilet.

3) They think they can get away with it without being noticed.

Other Answers:
Sometimes you just have to get those pesky things.

LOL I just can not help it. Actually my 5 year old picked some juicy ones in subway yesterday and ate them with several people watching much to my horror.

my son does it...but he is only 2 and doesn't know any better. lol. ;-)

This is considered extremely poor manners. But some people apparently don't care about that.

They think nobody's looking

I see it alot especially when they are sitting at a light or stopped in traffic. If im beside them, Ill blow the horn and watch how fast they stop.Or ill just watch and see what they do with it.Most of the time they roll it in their fingers for a while then drop it on the floor board.

People who pick their nose in public obviously pick their nose in private all the time. A habit is hard to break if you aren't conscious of your behavior. Pick one of your bad habits ( biting fingernails, twisting hair, etc, and be aware of how often you do this in public. A true friend would tell the nose picker when they do it and help them with it.
