Organ donor?

Question:

Are you going to donate your organs upon your death? I am. I have a member of my family alive today who received a vital organ. I am even going to donate my cornea's. Some people are really freaked out by this, just wondering about the rest of you.

I have been thinking about this issue today for some reason. I was freaked about the whole thing for a long time but thought if my kid needed an organ I would do anything to make sure she got one.

So, that being that - yes, I do plan to donate my organs and signed the back of my drivers license for it today.

I am, but only the internal organs because I don't think my family would be able to deal with running into somebody with my face.

i carry a donor card with me giving the hospital permission to use any vital organs and on my drivers license it says i am an organ donor why should they go to waste when someone can use them its good for them and it makes you feel good knowing you helped out someone else

That's great about your relative! I am an organ donor also. I won't be using them when I die. If there is more mileage left on them then I hope someone uses them.

It's an uncomfortable subject for lots of people .It's great to be a donor .maybe it's the Frankenstein thing that bugs people .Or better yet the actual thought of death ..
When you are dead you're dead.it's hard to ask a living being about giving a part of their body ,a part they use every day , to another individual after they dead....You know there is even a difficult process that live doners go through to donate to living people who need the organ ..I suppose then , that the subject is relative to the situation at hand .Yes, I would give to a live person ,my family for instance ,but I would still struggle with donating to another live person .so ....I appreciate your maturity in this subject .as for me ,it will take mitigating circumstances.....
