Is there anyway to get rid of unwanted birthmarks?

Question:
Is there any kind of surgery are laser treatment to help get rid of your birthmarks? Are

Answers:
Yes, laser or electrocautery. I got several done on my face. It was done by electrocautery and was painful, but tolerable. The deeper the mole, the more treatments it will take. The lighter, superficial moles were removed with one treatment.

Other Answers:
laser treatment - takes several times
It depends on the kind of birthmark. If it's a "portwine" birthmark, laser surgury does help. If it's just a large mole, talk to your doctor about having it removed. If it's a large freckle, without any raised skin, try seeing a dermotologist about skin bleaching treatments.

I have a portwine birthmark behind my left ear. I thought about having it removed, but then someone pointed out it looks more like a hicky.so I just left it alone. But that was when I still had short hair, now that I've gown my hair out again, I don't even see it anymore.
Some can be removed in the doctors by a laser.

I know you can have laser treatment and even have them burn off(depending on the size). It can be very pricey..check with your insurance to see what they will pay before getting it done.
I had two birthmarks removed last summer. One was very thin on my arm. The other was bigger than Cindy Crawford's and high on my stomach. I went to the doctor, he numbed both the areas, cut them off, and stitched them up. The whole process took about 40 minutes and the only part that I felt was the stitching.
