That's when 1st John 1 applies: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We are human, and will continue to mess up, but that's why it's best to keep short accounts with God and go to Him when we know we need to.

You are born again when you start to believe Christ is your savior. They say this because of the wonderful feeling of being saved that comes with believing. It's like you're born again, because of the completely different way you begin to live your life, and the new feelings. It's as if you're a different person.

In order to accept what Christ has done for you, you must die. You have to die to everything that you cherish in this world, you have to die to sin, and you have to die to yourself. ( because a dead person cannot serve anything)

After dying in this way, christ will bring you back to life, and will breath a new life into your spirit. After being brought back to life (spiritually) then you will be able to serve christ.
