I saw this thing about crazy women murders, and Dr. Hazzard and her "scientific fasting" caught my attention.

Question:
My question is, what was the exact procedeure Dr. Linda Hazzard used in "treating" her patients, and why is it that anorexic people can live for a lot longer than Hazzard's patients did?

Answers:
I don't know Dr. Hazzard's specific procedure, but she did write a book called "Fasting for the Cure of Disease" among other similar books. You can purchase a 13 page extract from her book "Scientific Fasting: The Ancient and Modern Key to Health" here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ.

As for why those suffering from Anorexia live longer, Anorexia covers eating disorders that are not limited to starvation and does have the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric diagnosis. Some who suffer from this diagnosis do not starve themselves, but purge, exercise excessively, or participate in other activies in an attempt to reduce their weight. Because this disorder varies so widely, it would be difficult to compare its sufferers to the patients of Dr. Hazzard.
