I have astigmatism but just got non-asitgmatic contacts from my optician, is this normal?

Only your optometrist (an eye doctor) can tell.
Consult your doctor first. Ask him/her what lenses did he/she prescribed. You might want to tell your doctor (or remind him/her) that you have a case of astigmatism. If he or she prescribed you with lenses with astigmatism, than ask your optician for an exchange (it's truly your opticians fault).
But if your optometrist did prescribed a non-astigmatic pair of lenses, then you might want to ask him/her for another check-up (to be sure). If your astigmatism is cured, then your lenses are okay. Maybe the world-warping is just a reaction to your eyes (it will take some time for them to adjust).
this usually happens when my glasses are upgraded. you'll probably get used to it in a few days. but if the problem persist and you start getting headaches, you should visit another optician to get a 2nd opinion.
