Do you believe that being a different skin color affected the world greatly?
Question:
Answers:
No, if it wasn't skin colour, it would be something else.
Take a look at Canadian history, peppered with battles between the French and the English. There would be conflict between people with differences, whether language, religion, skin colour, etc.
The source of the conflicts is usually POWER (and all that comes with power, such as money, land, etc.)
Race has been one target in this struggle for power over others, but it could be anything.
Skin colour is simply an obvious difference and an easy way to divide groups. The Germans chose to give people a visual flag, by forcing Jewish people to wear arm bands. Warring gangs will separate themselves by wearing gang colours, so where visual differences don't exist, people will create them.
It's not REALLY about skin colour. It's about our concept of other people.
Other Answers:
yes i agree why should people be judged by the color of there skin
Of course skin color has a lot to do with how people view each other. As long as the media keeps pumping stereotypes like black people rapping and stealing and selling drugs and pimping, and mexicans jumping the border, and orientals making electronics and Indians being terrorists, and the general public not questioning these images.
I have no problem with Japanese ppl or Chines ppl they are not violent and they are smart
yeah we all came from dirt and when we die we return to which we came
I agree with you we are all a human race like you say,but people are so racist that the hate one another because or color we are people that have feelings also,if we would love one another and not think that one is better then others then this wicked world wouldn't be so bad.
Well, I am a part of the world and I am white. I have never thought that I have been effected in a negative way by a persons skin color. As a matter of fact the only thing that has ever affected me is a persons treatment of me or someone else whether it be positive or negative. That should be all that matters. How we treat people and we should make a positive influence on all people.

Yes, being a different color has a great effect on this world. But you as a individual, shouldn't let this bother you. We are all the same in the eyes of God, our creator. We all want world peace, and I don't think that will ever happen in this life time. So be yourself and just enjoy life, and don't let being a different race bother you.

I BELIEVE THAT THE NEWS MEDIA HAS A LOT TO DO WITH CERTAIN THINGS , SUCH AS WHEN A NEW MAYOR IS ELECTED THEY PRINT THAT THEIR THE FIRST BLACK OR ORIENTAL OR SPANISH MAYOR OR WHAT EVER . THEIR RACE IS ALWAYS ANNOUNCED. AND I THINK THAT THIS IS UNNECESSARY.
I agree that differences in skin color have brought about divisions among people. But I also feel that if all people were of the same color we would still manage to find differences among us or rather create differences among us. Like in India there is the caste system, though people have the same skin color they have manged to create the division. I think the feeling of being more united and accepting each others differences must start from within each of us. It seems it has started within you and by bringing up this question you are getting it started within others

I can't agree with you more. I mean this world should be able to accept everyone the way they were born. When God made the earth he said that the HUMANS would rule all. So we should all join together not against each other.
no one is superior than other on the basis of color of skin, but of good deeds.
yes
Yes we are all humans and the same regardless of color.
Yes. It does. But it shouldn't. People to me are just that..people. Doesn't matter to me if they are polka-dot, striped, or purple (even though that would be interesting to see!). In any case, wouldn't this be a very boring world if everyone was EXACTLY THE SAME?
I difinitely agree with you. Although we different people, speaks different languages, raised in different culture, but everyone of us have the same right and the same gift of wisdom that was not given to lower level animals. So there shouldn't be any problem nomatter what your skin color is. That's an old misconception that should be eradicated by now.
I believe different skin colors have affected the world but what can YOU do to change that?
You can make a tiny difference by setting an example, but because there are so many negative people on this earth, I don't see anything like that ever happening!
Wishful Thinking!
I'm with you!
I strongly agree with you from my own point of veiw I see it alot.I am white and my moms oldest daughter is black. My mom had a hard time even in the 70s finding a apartment. And now I have 2 of my niece and great nef living with me and i live in a small town of all white people when we go to the store or for a walk people stare I just tell them hold your head hi be proud show them nothing bothers you. That you are no diff show them you are not ignorent.
YES I do BUT It SHOULDN'T Its not fair people don't get to pick there own color most-likely if we did we would all be the same color I'm white i see blacks or any other color as an equal to me i have all different kind of colored friends to me its like we are all one color and I Will always believe that no-mater what anybody says
Yes, and it's even worst when your color is "rare".
I am very purple and alwyas draw attention to myself wherever I go.
On a better not, accepting diversity is inherent to human condition, but there are exceptions to the rules.
Yes, why should people even think about judging other people by their skin color.
I'm afraid that if we didn't have different skin colours, we'd simply find some other anatomical feature to discriminate over.
i agree with you 100%
i feel the same way and it doesn't make sense that people act that way.The problem is some people never change so you have to go threough life with seeing these things and that shouldn't be
I think people is blowing this skin thing out of proportion. I mean God made man in His image and likeness. When we look at someone we must not see skin color but the image of God.
I don't think God created us to judge others or make other races inferior to us.The only way we can be united is when we start accepting each other for who we are, we need to look with love towards each other. under our skin whether black, blue, brown or white, there is red blood. When we start living the commandment of God. Love your neighbour as I have loved you, there will be peace and unity. ONE LOVE , ONE UNITY, ONE PEACE. ONE HUMAN RACE.
i agree. we're diffrent cause of skin color but we all come from the same thing. it is just that some people are so ignorant that they think they're better than someone witha diffrent color.
YES, greatly. people try to act like it dont, but lets face reality.
Yes I agree with u
no matter what everyone is judged!! there will always be those jack *** people that will not just accept others for themselves! people judge no matter what. i see people the same color as me and i still hear them behind my back judging me because of my body art!! but hey to bad they are so closed minded. their loss they just missed out on a great person to rub elbows with!! oh well i move on!! TO EACH HIS OWN.
