How do they prevent kidney failure in ICU?
Question:
Is kidney failure common for addicts that haven't been weened off of their drugs? If he's in ICU it seems they could have him on dialysis right? Or find a way of preventing it?
Answers:
My husband suffered from complete renal failure 4 years ago. His was genetic, and he required a trnasplant. he is happy and healthy today.
Dialysis is vital to a renal failure patient. Which means they will need to start a line from his neck, leg or heart. If he will be on long term dialysis, they will put a shunt in his thigh, arm or stomach.
They will run lots of tests to see what is causing it and what can stop it.
Doctors don't always share the plan, so you have to ask questions. I hope eveything turns out OK, and that this helps your Dad turn his life around.
Other Answers:
Yes they can put him on dialysis but it is a high risk because of his condition. They also can remove the kidney and find him a new one. They also can flush it out.
One fact about the kidneys: they process an *enormous* amount of fluid for the body.
One key way of increasing kidney efficiency: drink a huge amount of water
It sounds rediculously simple.this is known in a lot of
underground circles.people to abuse a lot of drugs know of this technique (I won't say where exactly) As well, kidney stones can be flushed out this way.
"Peritoneal dialysis" is really a complex form .they inject a water solution into your gut, and the toxins are pulled into a membrane.
Water is the simplest bet.get him to drink more.
