Why is it hard to breath!?

Question:
A few days ago, while at work, all of a sudden I started having a little bit of tightness in the chest. And whenever I would breath in, it would be really uncomfortable. At first. It went away, but then happened again the next day at work. I dont know why. The third time it happened, it lasted a lot longer, and hurt even worse. But today, when I woke up I noticed it hurting. All the other times before I was at work, but I just woke up today and it was really tight feeling!! Im starting to get a little light-headed, and shaky. Ive never had this happen for no reason before, and Im really not doing anything strenuous! So what do you think it is? Should I be worried, or not!?? What can I do about it!?

Answers:
Could be asthma--I developed it suddenly at the age of 48. You should go to your doctor right away and have him/her recommend a pulmonologist. Asthma is nothing to mess around with!

Other Answers:
talk to your doctor it may be astma or something worse so talk to your doctor!
call your dr and make an appt for an EKG for your heart to see if you are having problems
get your self to the hospital quick
you better get to the doctor sounds like pnuemonia or asthma.
Take a trip to your health care provider and get a check up...
You need to have this evaluated by a doctor.

There is a condition that mimics asthma called VCD (vocal cord dysfunction). It makes it difficult to breathe IN. In asthma, it's difficult to breathe OUT.

Either way, you need to be evaluated to make certain there isn't something serious going on.
