Something in my eye?

I couple of days ago, I got a bit of dust or something in my eye. Now my eye lid is a little swollen, and I think the thing is still in my eye. Should I go to the regular doctor or just make an appointment with the eye doctor? Can I get it out myself? The online resources just tell me to "seek medical attention".

You can get an eyewash at a local drug store. Looks like a little shotglass. You fill it with water, place you eye over it and then pour it over your eye. You may need to do this twice.

I had a piece of sawdust in eye for three days. When I went to sleep, my eye sealed shut. I got the eye wash and it worked like a charm. If you don't do this, you may tear your eye like I did last year. Had to go to the doctor to fix.

I think if your eye lid is swollen and as eye is a delicate part of body, i would suggest you to go to doctor for further medical helps.

would you like to have one eye? go to the eye doctor. they will dialate the pupil check it,remove the particle then clean out the hole with a dremmel .after that the eye will be really irritated for about a day. i still have two sparkling blue eyes. if been thru that 5 times being a mechanic
