Volunteering for a Clinical Trial?
Question:
Its like your being a lab rat, but it pays very good copensation. Some up to $2000.
Have you done this or would you sign up to make extra money?
Answers:
I've volunteered at a University for a few different studies - the biggest was one where they made me get a glucose tolerance test, two MRIs, and took a biopsy of my thigh. The thigh biopsy hurt but the study paid well - around $650 as I remember. I had to stay overnight in a hospital for that one too.
In another study, they made me put my hand in cold water for four hours. That kind of hurt, but it paid well too. And then in another one they just put q-tips on my tongue and I was supposed to tell them what it tasted like.
I draw the line on studies where they want you to take some kind of drug, however. Read Overdosed America and you probably will too.
Other Answers:
I would but depending on their controls criteria. I may not qualify due to having a chronic illness. Good luck on your search.
Many people volunteer, especially those with cancer, HIV, hepatitis and other diseases that are difficult to treat. I work in the research area and they pay for all treatments, tests, medications and your time. These trials are usually the last step before FDA approval. O considered doin it when i was unemployed and i thought about sprouting anither eye or ear or etc
