Can a person's "bad" cholesterol be too low?

Question:
I have Type 1 Diabetes so I have a higher risk of heart problems. Anyway, 3 months ago when I went for my regular doctor checkup my "bad" cholesterol was 100 and my doctor put me on a pill to lower the cholesterol. I went back last week for my regular checkup and now my "bad" cholesterol is 66 which he said is good but he wants me to keep taking that cholesterol pill. How much lower might my "bad" cholesterol get? Is it safe for me to be taking this pill when my "bad" cholesterol is only 66?

Answers:
You can't have too little bad cholesterol in your body -- it's bad.

Other Answers:
Nobody really knows how low your bad cholesterol needs to be before it's too low. However, you want to keep it under 70 (studies show that cholesterol plaque forms in the blood vessels when bad cholesterol is above 70). Also, when you stop taking the pill, your cholesterol will go up, so you should stay on it.
the best level of the "bad" cholesterol to have is zero, your body naturally makes all the cholesterol it needs and your "bad" cholesterol levels should not exceed 300.
