can taking advil often really hurt your insides ..?

Question:
like i heard that taking it too often is bad because it can eat away at your stomach and if it gets stuck in your throat it can eat away at your asophagus?..is this true? and if so how many pills & how often does it take for it to happen? also how will you know?.

Answers:
Advil should only be taken as needed for 7 or fewer days. There is no reason to take it for long periods of time unless prescribed by a physician.
Depending on your weight, you should take between 400 and 800mg per dose. (2 to 4 over the counter tablets) It should also be taken with food to decrease the chances of stomach irritation.

Other Answers:
you're supposed to take it with milk or food so that there is something to coat and protect your stomach from it. it is also hard on your liver; that is why is says on the label to not take it if you consume more than 3 alcoholic drinks a day.
