Why must you never wake a sleepwalker?

Question:
Is it bad luck or something?

Answers:
I always heard that you could, but that it should be done gently. Or if you lead them back to bed and lay them down again they'll stay there.
Chances are you could experience some one taking a swing at you if you startle them awake.

Other Answers:
thats a myth. you can and you should
I think it has something to do with them going into a rage you don't know what they are dreaming about and they could harm you if you startle them awake.
They will have a terribly nasty flinch if woken suddenly, generally very painfully, and in your direction.
you should! but I've been told never to turn on the tv (especially the news) when someone's in a coma, because they will have nonstop nightmares.
Waking a sleep walker is dangerous. The person could:
a) go into shock
b) hit you without realizing it
c) think you were trying to harm them.

The best thing to do is to gently steer them back into their room and put them back to bed.
its dangerous. you could fall down stairs or run into things and seriously injure yourself. people have been caught sleep walking while driving cars or leaving the house.
There is a myth that it is dangerous to wake a sleepwalker. This is not true. It may be difficult to wake a sleepwalker, but it is not dangerous. The easiest way to deal with a sleepwalker is to take him or her by the hand and lead her or him back to bed.
No, it is not bad luck or something, Yes, you should wake a sleepwalker because it is dangerous for them as well as others around them. They could potentially hurt themselves and or other people around them. Make sure that you have someone, like a law enforcement officer to help you only if the person with whom you wake is much larger than you are and could possibly hurt you! Don't just let them go off and do what ever! It's too dangerous. Actually only in that case, you shouldn't try to wake them, you should get an officer of the law to do it. That's the best thing to do.
