what is the difference between nursing homes and assist living homes?

Nursing Home is for people who need constant care daily.- Assited living is for people who need someone to watch over them assist with meds. ,showers. Housekeeping cleans their rooms and they eat in dining room.Some wash their clothes but CNA's do that if patient pays for that. You pay out of your pcket for expenses not use Medicad.

Assisted living is for those that can live alone but it is advisable to have someone close in case of emergency and to check up on you. Nursing homes are for those that need 24 hour a day supervision with medical care on the premises.
A nursing home is where an old person would stay for the rest of their days.

Assisted living is where they live at home but someone comes around and helps them out a few times a week, such as with ironing or cleaning the house, basically things which need doing and get harder to do as you get older.

Assisted living is the better of the option of the two in 'most' cases, but not every... :(
