To help speed up the process, you should drink slurpees or icees. It helps with the pain and the swelling. The first time I got my tongue pierced, I just stuck with soft foods like they instructed me. And I had to deal with all the pain and swelling. I ended up having to get it re-pierced a while later because I had lost my ring (long story). The next time, after I got it pierced, I went straight to 7-11 for a big slurpee. I was able to eat that same night.

eat chicken soup until you can eat normal food. everyone is different. also eat ice to keep the swelling down.
Try taking some ibuprofin, it relives pain and contols swelling, also sucking on ice helps with the swelling too.
well lil mama bree, i got my tongue pierced when i 1st turned 16, the swellin wuz no problem for me, a lil fat, but managable. i reccommend, ice cold drinkz, and cold treatz..such as ice cream and popsiclez..now this will help...it should take 3 to 5 dayz until tha swellin has subsided....until then...enjoy, u kno why u gurlz get those pierced...lol...
