How do I trick myself into going to bed?
Question:
Answers:
lol. for myself, I always trick myself into starting my dreams. You close your eyes and think about what you want to dream about. You'd normally think happy thoughts which will just calm you and you'll eventually fall asleep. Keep your eyes closed, and get into the very details of whatever makes you happy.

tell yourself your going to read but forget the book and your already in bed? take sleep medicine? w-a-n-k-i-n-g relaxes you and being relaxed makes you sleepy so w-a-n-k before going to bed. cheers!
I've got the same problem, I've started listening to music in bed and eating valerian root.
Why do you not want to go to bed? Sounds like there is more here than a simple "trick" can fix.
I always had the same problelm! Then I suffered a serious physical injury, but when I was able to return to work, and still in the healing process (which was never total and finally disabled me) my doctor gave me the following information, and it completely worked for me. Remember rest..ESPECIALLY SLEEP, is ESSENTIAL to healing, and the restoration, preservation of your bodily system, especially the nervous system, which regulates/controls EVERY aspect of your aliveness. I still do this to keep me from making myself fight sleep or go to bed. He told me as soon as I got home from work, did supper and completed the things necessary for my family..(and to get what help was necessary so that would not take more than a couple of hours), to take a hot shower and put my night clothes on, and then, GET IN BED. He told me to get pillows and one of those armed bed-cushions where I could sit up in bed if I needed to do paperwork, or recline propped up and watch TV, but whatever I did..to get in the bed to read, watch tv, talk on the phone, etc. My body quickly learned to let my brain know it was 'shutting down for the day' and it naturally began to go into 'rest mode'..which caused me to be able to either turn off the light and put stuff down, and lay down and sleep, or even still, I find myself going to sleep when I read, or with the TV on. There is just something about that bath, and getting into that bed, that keeps me from keeping myself up and awake. It will make a remarkable difference in your energy, and even your health in the long run. Even in times of greatly stressful situations, a hot shower, and laying down to 'rest' for even 30 minutes will make the difference in how well I function through it, or whether I can get over being too tired to go out later in the day, or evening, if I need to. Take care of you..and God Bless.
