What makes a person Gay or Straight?

Question:
Just wondering if it is something chemical or do we learn it after birth? Thanks

Answers:
I don't think it's chemical but I certainly believe you're born that way.

I would completely disagree that it's a learned behaviour there's no evidence to back this up for a start.

Which brings us to "choice"
For a start implying there's a choice involved means that people must be sexually attracted to both sexes and opts for one.

Also why would anyone choose to be gay? You can still be killed because of it. You face verbal and physical abuse, social exclusion and rejection by your friends and family. In some countries you can still be imprisioned and executed for being gay.

There has also been cases of homosexuality in the animal kingdom (link provided) - is there a choice in that?

People who try and claim there's a choice are blinded by their religion.

Other Answers:
"Like all complex behavioral and mental states, homosexuality is...neither exclusively biological nor exclusively psychological, but results from an as-yet-difficult-to-quantitate mixture of genetic factors, intrauterine influences...postnatal environment (such as parent, sibling and cultural behavior), and a complex series of repeatedly reinforced choices occurring at critical phases of development."

OK?
