Answers:
Cutting is not good obviously. Some people start in school with erasers. They just keep erasing one area on their hand or arm until it bleeds or scars. Cutting might come next, or if they smoke, purposeful cigarette burns. This is a low level mental illness (Hopefully stays low level) that can evolve due to such things as feelings of loneliness, or inferiority. Stay positive with your friend and show your support for him or her to stop.
