Are medications considered poisons?

Yes they are. I teach a class on common household poisons and that is the one people are the most surprised at. Kids only see the colors and they look like M&M's, Skittles etc. even if they spit them out after chewing they may have swallowed enough to kill them, and some adults forget if they took their pills already so they accidentally take more which causes some very bad reactions.

Yes. If someone takes a medication not prescribed to them or in greater than the suggested does, then of course they are poisonous. In a since they are a poison to the bacteria or virus that they are supposed to kill. Medications also can create mutations in bacterias and viruses, creating more lethal illnesses. Medication is just something to stay away from unless you are extremely ill.
