night and day contact lens problems?

Question: i dont no if its allergies but i put my contacts in friday and they were fine till i came home today and the my right i stated to fell like i had an eyelash in it so i put some blink and clean in. it didnt help so after 3 hours of trying to fix it in my eye i just took it out.could it be allegic because i didnt have a problem till i got home and ive had this problem before but only at my house? I have 2 cats. could i be allergic to them? also my eyes are still itchy. but the eyelash feeling went away its more burning.
