Is it ok to swim in a pool after you had to shock it?

Question:
There was larve swimming around and that gac growing on the bottom. I shocked the water. The gross stuff went away, but the water is a little cloudy. Can you still swim in it?

Answers:
You should wait at least 24 hours before you can swim in it. The chemical you use to shock it is granular chlorine and is very strong at first. It can be a health hazard to you and your skin. You should use a test kit to test your chemical levels in your pool.

Other Answers:
i wouldn't risk it but its your life.

No, you should wait at least a day or two before swimming. I wouldt if I were you. Just change the water in it.

take a sample of the water to a pool store and ask them if they can test the sample for you, also tell them the reason why you had to schock the water, they might have something there that you can use for that. good luck

You can swim in your pool if the water is a little cloudy, but i would take a sample to the pool store first to make sure everything is balanced
