Under normal conditions, his temp indicates that he is fighting an infection and is doing a good job fighting it, hence, the elevated temp from all that warring with bugs. The cooling bath was a comforting idea. Be sure not to make the bath cooler than your arm. If you have a doctor to call, do so, for reassurances and perhaps for a fever reducer med. If your son is having trouble in any way breathing or you have trouble waking him up, or, he is otherwise medically fragile, please call your hospital. You're doing good, hon. You're son is going to be OK. He's going to do things like this to scare the death out of you on a regular basis for the next couple of decades! Write a add -on comment here in the next day or so and let us know how you guys are doing.

You should give him some children's fever reducer. The bath was a good idea, hopeful it was a tepid /luke warm bath. A cold/ Ice cold bath could send him into shock. Then he should be taken to a hospital.dont worry too much unless the fever goes to 103 or above, give him some tylenol and check on him in a couple hours. if still feverish in the morning or in a few hours.. call doctor.
Take him to a hospital. Tell them that he ran a fever, and that your thermometer read 101. They'll take a look at him, and let you know what you have to worry about. Likely, it could just a fever, but if it's some sort of infection, he could get much worse.
