I have to have a colonoscopy tomorrow, and I want to drink some alcohol. Will that hurt me?

Alcohol is a clear liquid--so why not feel good while I am on the toilet all night. What do you think?

The alcohol left over in your system in the morning will react real nice with the narcotics they give to knock you out. You'll be real lucky if you ever wake up again. Lay off the juice and call AA.

I wouldn't. Alcohol dehydrates, why not try something soft? Drink afterward the procedure. Get a good book and put the radio on.

You were given instructions . Nothing by mouth after 12AM.You have to take a cathartic. This leaves the stomach and bowels clear. In the AM before the colonoscopy you will be given med. through an IV. (sedative). If you know what is good for you "lay off the alcohol"
