About giving blood... ♥?

Question:
I gave blood on Wednesday - September 27. I'm 16 and that was the first time I was able to give blood. I filled out the questions and then they had me on the bed, when the lady came she was poking my arm to find a vein, in which she failed to find one in my right arm, so she switched me to my left. She found the vein but the pokes she made in to my skin wouldn't stay so she poked me harder. (It hurt worse then getting the needle put in your arm). After she successfully got the pokes she got the needle. She wasn't careful about it, she shoved it in my arm which hurt me. So as I'm laying there she notices that the blood wasn't flowing right. She said I have a slow draw and messed with the needle. After trying she couldn't get it and disposed of my blood. I went home and told my mother and she said that maybe she made a mistake doing it because when I get get cut at home, I bleed a lot. Is it possible that when she did it she went through the other side of the vein? ...

Answers:
yes, this lady messed up big time.

If you ever decide to donate again, ask for a senior phlebotomist. Tell them if they miss again you will leave immediately. They have a lot to loose, you deserve better treatment.

Thank you again for trying to save life's. I work in a hospital base blood bank and have to use this precious gift of life everyday. Believe me you could use many more responsible young adults like you.
Do not get discouraged.
It sounds like she messed up. It shouldn't have been that bad.
