what is the best way to get something through to someone who doesnt listen?

Question: someone i know has a problem with listening to what others say about her appearance, they think shes fine... she thinks shes ugly. how do u get her to listen?

Answers:
You stop talking.

She's looking for attention. She says, "I'm so ugly....." everyone else says, "no, you're not, you're soo pretty...."

sound about right?

Stop giving her that attention. When she says that, respond with, "well, if that's how you want to think....hey, did you hear about"....(and change the subject fast)
