one way that you can do it, is place a hot wash clothe over the bruised area...this will create heat, and get blood to the area...the more blood that goes to the area, the faster the bruise will go away. you want to be careful not to put too much heat, you don't want to burn yourself...you just want to get the blood moving.

An old fashioned remedy is to get a steak and place it over your eye. I'm not sure why. An ice pack might help. The bruises are caused by capillaries bursting, and losing their blood all over the place. So anything that will coagulate the blood, or send it on its way will help to fade the bruise.
