Is vicodin (and generic) typically mixed with acetimonophen?

Question:
You know, aspirin and stuff that destroy your liver.

Answers:
Vicodin has 500 mg of acetaminophen (tylenol) in it. And that is the regular strength. Some strengths have up to 750mg of tylenol in it.

You should not take more than 4000mg (4gm) of tylenol in a day. Or that is, 8 regular Vicodin.

Edit: in the US, there is no standalone hydrocodone product (not counting Tussionex, in a syrup form though.that is generally used for cough, not pain)

Other Answers:
Vicodin is hydrocodone and acetaminophen mixed together in one place.. aspirin and acetaminophen are not the same. acetaminophen is what tylenol is made of.
Well.. the main ingredient in Vicoden is Hydrocodone w/APAP. This means that there are two active ingredients. The two ingredients are hydrocodone and APAP. The APAP is acetaminophen. Yes, it can destroy your liver if you use an extreme amount. So maybe over a matter of time. But not anytime soon. So does ibuprofen. it can give you ulcers. That's why there are the side effect warnings. They are serious when they say it is possible. You need to be careful when taking meds.

Yes it is, the narcotic in Vicodin is hydrocodone, which you can get (by prescription) as a stand alone medication so that you do NOT get acetominophen,
