what happens if food coloring is put in your eyes?

I know this sounds dumb but a friend wanted to try it to see if he would go blind or if it would actually color the eye or what? is it harmful? what does it do?

Great question. What is the answer? You will probably get an eye infection, it's obviously not toxic, but I'd go to an opthamologist(eye doctor) and get some prescription eye drops.

Food coloring will probably turn the tears the color of the food coloring but that should be about all. However your friend should wash his eyes out .
It is pretty sad that someone who can see is risking losing his eye sight for a few minutes of what he believes is fun.

maybe it will turn to the color that you have been used.i don't know..just don't do it.it may cost your eyes. because it is food color it is safe for stomach and mouth.
stomach and mouth has acidic juices so food color also could be acidic in nature.

The tears the excretion from eyes must be basic or caustic properties as it can dissolve any particle that enters the eyes
