Put a few drops of dish soap in a jar or glass, fill it with water so there are a few bubbles on top. Leave it on the counter near the fruit.

I think they have a product called Massengill, or another popular brand is Summer's Eve.

Keep your fruit covered or in the frig to prevent them.

They have a short life span, so they'll die soon. I've found those sticky fly strips work pretty well.

Get rid of the fruit rinds around.

Glass of red wine. Leave it on your cabinet over night. The flies will dive into the wine thinking it is fruit.

I read on the internet that they breed in sink drains and disposals and of course are attracted to fruit laying around un covered. Pour bleach down draind and into garbage disposals then rinse with hot water regularly. Also make sure any fresh fruit or other foods are always kept covered or refrigerated, especially in summer time.

I had a problem with fruit flies once and noticed, after a party, that about 20 of them had drowned in a small, opened bottle of peach schnapps. Seriously. No more fruit flies after that. Worth a shot and it's better than caking your home in chemicals.
