Question:
Could some one tell me the symptoms for heartburn, and ways to put out the fire

Answers:
This what you can look for:
Difficult or pain when swallowing
Vomiting with blood
Bloody or black stool
shortness of breath
Dizziness or light-headness
pain radiating into your neck and shoulder

In addition, know that heartburn cause by simple acid reflux is normally worse after meals. If your heartburn worsens before meal it may be a sign of an ulcer.
Loosen your belt. Think again of the toothpaste analogy, Many people can get relief from hertburn simply by wearing suspenders instead of a belt.

I have had a lot of problems about this lately, it even keeps me awake at night. I just try not to eat alot of greasy foods, and no fried foods. also, coffee and cigarettes make it alot worse.
As from what I know, a heartburn is when you feel some sort of "heat" at the level of the sternum/centre of chest (where your heart is, i.e.) when in fact, it's the upper tip of your stomach that's as if "burning" due to contents of the stomach travelling up your gullet. (There's absolutely nothing to do with your heart). If you have heart burn, you might also have a bitter taste in your mouth.

I would recommend omeprazole (a H+ pump inhibitor to reduce secretion of acid in the stomach) but anyway, your physician will recommend you something himself. But if your heart burn is not that frequent, the usual antacid will do the trick!
