When I had them first put on, it was painful to eat for a few days afterwards. Also when they get tightened, that wasn't fun either. But it's only temporary:)

The most painful part is when they put the metal bands in the back teeth, & u have 2 bite down on it to get it on there. That REALLY hurts! Also, the glue tastes very nasty & HORRIBLE!
Even before they put ther braces on some doctors put "spacers" in between your teeth. For me, that hurts more than the braces. The braces didn't really hurt at all. Good luck.
Not really. It just makes it feel like something hard pressing against your teeth after they first put them on.
I had braces for 4 years. The worst part was changing the band every month. My teeth would hurt for days afterwards.
Having them tightened every month. Makes your teeth hurt when you bite down for a day.
they use heat to apply the brackets and one time the orthodontist burned my lip with it and he had already walked away so it was burning my lip for about a minute.
i stil have a scar from it..
but that probably wont happen to you. lol
