Always takes effort. Go to the local gym and exercise 20 mins three times a week and as you do it you'll feel more invigorated and do more. Also pick an activity you enjoy. If you like swimming do that. Give yourself a goal to work at, getting the abs in shape or losing some weight and reward yourself when you reach goals you've set.

Start slow. Work your way up. The first day just do 10 minutes. Walk, run, whatever. But just do 10 minutes. Then maybe after a couple of days increase your time. Once you've increased your time to around 30 minutes then increase the intensity of your workout.
You just have to force yourself to get started. But you'll be happy you did.
