given the advances we have already made in medicine it seems to reason that somewhere someone will experiment with humans and if they are successful at manipulateing the genetic structure of that human there could very well be a superman or woman walking or flying around.and if there were and some sought to destroy or take over earth im sure there will be those out there to stop them

Get a degree in genetic engineering and work for the government or some other super rich private company and you will see and create all the mutants your heart desires. If you look throughout history we have been creating mutants and super humans since humans could record history, like centaurs and people like Hercules.
