One side of my pelvis is higher than than the other?

Question:
I'm pretty sure my legs are the same length, I just got crooked overtime. Can this be corrected.? I have heard yoga and pilates can help with alignment. How long will it take? Any other suggestions to get aligned. Have you successfully fixed this problem for yoursefl?

I'm not really interested in chiropractors. I'd rather try to dorrect in with stretching and strengthening, regaining muscle balance.

I will probably see an orthopedist, to make sure I don't have leg length differences.

Being crooked is causing problems everywhere in my body.

Answers:
Oh, I can so help you out! I'm so glad.
Ok, 1st, yes you're on the right path with the stretching, exercise, etc.
It's too bad you don't want to try chiroproacter's, get a good one & you'll be glad you did. How do you feel about THERAPEUTIC
massage? If you have no probs with being touched, I highly recommend Rolfing--or any other (less expensive) "body integration" massage. If these are too painful for you, a deep tissue massage will help too--you need more but they cost & hurt less.
Some simple, yet effective stuff: lay flat on the floor, have a friend check for evenness of the soles of your feet, then just lift stretch to tolerance, then lower & pull. Repeat a fwe times--don't ignore the shorter leg--give it a stretch/pull or two, also.
Pay attention to the wear of you shoes--check the heels, ankle area & arch support.
Be body concious, ie, many times a day, check your posture/body stance. You know, the ol' head-up, shoulders back, stomach in routine.
Good luck.
No ones body is symetrical. If you want proof of this stand infront of a mirror and take another mirror and place it down the centre of your face...its scaryyyy!!!! That is what we would look like if we were all even steven. Everyone has one foot bigger, one leg longer...I would not worry. But do the test you will be horrified.
