What is the most common disability?

Question:
Is it being blind, deaf, or mute?

Answers:
Hearing Impaired ("Deaf" isn't used that often anymore). I just took Intro to Special Education as part of my Education requirements and we talked about those three disabilities for awhile.

A person can be considered blind without being completely unable to see ("Visual Impairment" is more politically correct). It's actually more common than you would think.

Only about 0.6% of children are mute. And 0.5% of those have Downs Syndrome and are unable to perfect the use of their vocal chords, but are still able to make sounds. Some can even put together small words or sentences, but may still be considered mute (speech impairment).

Overall though, hearing impairments are much more common. And with the improvement of technology, many people that couldn't hear before are able to hear anywhere between a little bit and perfectly with hearing aids or other things (provided free by the school). Not many people are actually entirely unable to hear.
