Would you actually be bold enough to give CPR to a stranger when an accident happens right in front of you?

Question:
Some people would run away, some will just freeze on the spot. What would you do?

Answers:
Yep, I'd do it. I've been certified since I was 11, so that's. 27 years.

Of course, when I was 11, I didn't weigh enough to perform the act, but, I've always lived to be the hero. I've saved two children from drowning, and one (my own daughter) from being hit by a car. I've never been afraid of blood and guts (I've seen enough of my own), and my clearest moments are usually when someone is in need of help. The last time I took CPR was when my father was terminal with cancer. He signed a DNR form, which means Do Not Resuscitate. Big waste of time for me. A couple of months after Dad died, Mom had an implantable defibrillator put into her. So, why have I been taking these classes my whole life? Is there some unwritten rule that says after you get certified, you can't use the skills? I dunno. Mom's still more active than me, I guess we'll find out when the battery on that damn thing gives out.

Grant G: The purpose of chest compressions is to circulate blood. The purpose of breathing is to oxygenate the blood, so it does some good.

Everyone else (not gonna read through the rest): If you haven't taken the classes, DON'T PERFORM CPR!

good Samaritan law, if you don't help and you are qualified you could be charged for not coming to their aid!

i have, and i would.in an instant.absolutely..woul. you? it is your duty as a human being to assist in anyway that you can and to not get in the way if you dont know how. i personaly have had no problem renduring aid to my fellow comrades of course when your in iraq you freeze you die.

Yes, no problem. However, I'd probably defer to my wife if she's with me because she's worked as an ER nurse.

We were the first persons on the scene of an accident once. Because of my wife's background, she took charge until emergency medical personnel arrived. We stabilized everyone. No CPR needed, though.

None of us would know until it happens. Most people do just fine in real life!
