How to change my body to tolerate the heat?

Question:
Lately I can't stand being in the sun for long. I get way over heated and sweat badly. Am I lacking a specific vitamin? Other than drink more water what can I do? I need help, I am a wildland firefighter, and my career will depend on this!!

Answers:
Have your diet contain mostly nonfat items, like bread, fruits, vegetables, juices and the like. Stay away from meats & cheeses , and so forth.
The Eskimos eat a lot of meat and fat.
Near the equator. the diet is fruit and vegetable based.
Good luck

that's a good question.i can't tolerate the heat either. putting you on my watch list.

i would suggest drinking lots of the vitamin waters (like propel) and gatorade.

Have you seen a doctor? I sweat a lot too, mainly my face, which is so attractive, but I've lost some weight, started eating smaller portions of food, and I drink water all day.and I can actually stand being out in the sun- I mean I couldn't lay out AT ALL.I used to die. If I was anywhere near water, I was in- as much as possible. Anyway, I seem to be a bit better now. If you find a better (which I'm sure you will) solution, PLEASE e-mail me too!! Good luck! You may be mildly dehydrated or low in sodium.

Nothing wrong with sweating as long as you replace the fluids and minerals lost.

I am guessing when you say *over-heated*, you mean weak from the heat. You may have a blood sugar issue. Diabetics have to be careful not to become dehydrated as it majorly affects levels in the blood.

Have a fasting glucose test run and take a look at your overall fitness. Check your mineral levels and water intake.

Good luck!
