I quit smoking 1 year ago & gained 25lbs. I didn't eat more than i did b4 and the weight wont come off! Help

your body has to adjust to the change. your body thinks your starving so it hangs on to the fat it has . My doctor told me to give up bread butter sweets and i can tell you this is not easy.She also told me i would be hungry for about 2-weeks.,then i would see a diference. She is right but i don't like lettuce.lettuce,lettuce for a steady diet. Whether you have smoked in the past or not, putting on weight is always easier than getting it off again. Most normal people have trouble losing gained weight and keeping it off. Most mothers have trouble losing weight after having kids. I just have trouble with will power. Add some exercise into the mix. The thing is smoking make you eat less. Some type of exercise will help it come off. Walking or what ever.

Well if you are a female and you are getting older. That is just life. You have to come up with a food habit that you will stick with for the rest of your life; which will let you loose weight and keep it off. I have been having alot of luck with the Weight Watchers dinners and keeping my calories down below 1200 a day. Have lost 16 pounds and I am close to reaching my goal.. But it does take time. The true secret that I have found is eat small portions at Breakfast, dinner, and lunch then a snack in between meals. You have to eat something every three hours during the day or your body will go into starvation mode and your body will store the food instead of using it up as energy. this sounds rediculas but beleive me it works. Lay off the carbonated drinks. if you have to drink something like that, drink diet sodas. but water is best. Beleive me you will say to yourself how am I going to loose weight because I am eating all the time. But this does work. Lay off the chips and stuff like that if you are dieting I know that you have give all that up. I haven't been to any weight watchers meetings but just being sinsible about what I'm doing. The only thing is make sure your weight gain is not due to a medical condition. If you think that it might be go and get yourself checked.. and don't forget about an excise program even if it is just walking..
Like I said find something that works for you that you will stick to for the rest of your life.. keeping weigh off only gets harder for women as you get older so get use to the highs and lows of weight gain and learn to make changes in your diet and your exercise program as your body get older and changes.
