Health insurance is usually less expensive as part of group health plan, so you should try and find work that will help you pay for health insurance. Needy Meds also has information medical assistance programs categorized by state, federal, private, and disease/condition.

If you want to buy private insurance, be careful when you examine price. The lowest priced plan is not always the least expensive.

Basically, health plans differ in three basic ways:

•monthly price/annual deductible
•access to health care (the degree to which you can visit whom you like and undergo medical treatment a specialist thinks you need)
•financial strength of the insurance company

Also, the price of a plan is not simply the premium you pay each month. You also have to consider the annual deductible, as well as any coinsurance amounts or copayments.
