make sure you stretch the tops of your legs the best way i found to do this is lay on my back lift my legs in the air and spread them like a sissor ation keep pushing yourself past your pain threshhold
it hurts, but keep practicing. in a sitting position with your knees drawn up to your chest, keeping your back as straight as possible, put your forehead on your knees and straighten your legs. do this very very slowly til your legs are fully straight and your head is still on your knees.keep repeating til you don't feel a pull. if you can do this, then start the splits. it's always easier with one leg rather than the other in front (i could do them with my right leg but not my left for ages) slowly slide down into position, take the weight of your body on your arms and gently raise yourself up and down.don't bounce!!! getting as low as you can. you have to do this every day and it can take weeks.... repeat the stretching exercises after you try to do the splits to minimise strains.
