Mine are not very sore but I clean them with alcohol everyday and twist them too. It takes up to 6 weeks for your holes to be healed enough so they won't close. Try using hydrogen peroxide to clean your ears to prevent infection. Wear a small round bandage on the space behind your ears to prevent them from poking you while you sleep.
