contrary to popular belief, just because a airplane "is going down"
does not necessarily mean that you are going to crash. ATP pilots are trained and are required for recurrent training in emergency procedures.
To answere the question about what would I say.
It would probably be part of the check list, or if that is completed,"fly the airplane, fly the airplane, fly the airplane"...Something my flight instructor drilled into my head.
