Addicted to caffeine pills and sleeping pills?

Question:
Im super addicted to caffeine, and if I dont have any, I get terrible headaches. Now its come to the point where I need caffeine pills every day, along with my coffee/soda, etc. If I dont take them, I get tired and cranky. But the thing is, at night, when its finally time for me to sleep.I cant sleep without sleeping pills. (I know the obvious answer is, quit taking the caffeine pills and you wont need the sleeping pills) but it isnt that easy. Yesterday I didnt take any caffeine pills and I fell asleep at noon, and slept until midnight. but normally if I dont take sleeping pills, I sleep for 2- 3 hours max and then im up again, and tired all day. I feel like i need both to regulate my day. its a viscious cycle. what are some things I can do to end it, so I can be awake and alert during the day without pills, and sleep through the night, without pills?

Answers:
It would be better if you gradually reduce your caffeine intake each day. Just quitting will make your body have withdraws. The headaches you are experiencing are and indication of this. Also, you may want to consider taking melatonin. Melatonin is produced in the pineal gland in the brain and increases tiredness. It is a hormone that regulates your biological cycles. You can get melatonin at drug stores and it is perfectly natural. It just increases your natural production of the hormone. Take a pill about 30 minutes before you sleep and turn off the lights. Since melatonin is inhibited in the light it will work more effectively if you are in the dark. You may want to drink night time tea which helps you relax. Also, smells like lavander can also make you sleepy. It is important for you to minimise your reliance on sleeping pills, as it can soon become a drug addiction and many people need rehabilitation when they become too dependent on them. There is a new, non dependent sleeping pill that doesn't put you to sleep directly, but instead works like the meletonin. You would need a prescription for it though...

Hope this helped!
Your going to need to wait it out and not take any pills for at least 2 weeks. You need to let it clear out of your system and let your body start to normalize. Once that happens you should stop falling asleep at noon.
