What helps the body to get taller?

If you really want to get taller, see an endocrinologist and ask about the possibility of injections of human growth hormone. Over the counter human growth hormone has to be absorbed under the tongue and it really isn't possible to grow from it because it isn't potent enough. Someone will probably write that human growth hormone comes from corpses, so I will correct that... it used to come from corpses and cattle pituitary glands and it put people at risk of serious fatal diseases. It no longer comes from the dead and is considered safe. One thing a person has to keep in mind is the fact that these shots cause the body to grown in general, meaning bigger feet, bigger hands and a large head perhaps with a big bulbous nose which can result in being much more unattractive than being just plain short. If you're a female the doctor will generally send you home with nothing because of this fact. Sometimes it is better to like yourself just the way you are and not concentrate on less important things such as height.
You can increase the natural amount of human growth hormone that your brain makes by taking the amino acid arginine available at heath food stores. But again, I wouldn't do that without a doctors advice. Most things sold in health food stores are considered safe and don't require regulation by the FDA but there is such a thing as taking too much of something or in the wrong combination and some rather bad results have occurred from it.
There is nothing you can do to make yourself grow. However doing yoga can straighten the spine, making you up to two inches taller. Wearing heels can also be good, but don't wear them too much or it can damage your tendons and muscles. But be yourself, height doesn't matter. Being short can be an advantage and i'm doing well at 5'2''!
There isn't much you can do about your height as it is genetically deciphered before you are born. However maintain good posture and standing tall. We hinder our growth by carrying heavy objects (such as books in school bags).
Genes.
I was the 2nd shortest girl in my 6th gr.class. By the time I ended 7th grd. I was 5'2". I peaked at 5'5" by the 9th or 10th.
My sons also had major "growth spurts" between 6-7 grades.
Both are close to 6ft. now.
There's nothing you can do. It's already set.
