I'd like to know what is the best way of curing a stammer - and what is the success rate for people who undergo therapy to help them speak normally?

Your best source for information about stuttering/stammering is www.stutteringhelp.org. People who make sure they go to a speech therapist who specializes in stuttering, or at least has been trained in working with stutterers, have a better success rate than those who go to a general speech therapist. The Stuttering Foundation lists therapists who are trained to work with stutterers on their web site under "referrals." Those who can't get to a good therapist can find help through the Foundation's book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" found in their estore. Some therapists use it in their sessions.
